I'm running: Pulse Audio v 0.9.21 Alsa v 1.0.20 (Stock with 9.10)
I got my microphone to work finally, probably from messing with alsamixer, but there are some lingering issues that I'm still watching. After everything was working as it should I had to save my alsamixer settings via: sudo alsactl store 0 After a restart my gnome volume would be muted so I had to do the following: I commented out line 372 in /etc/init.d/alsa-utils: # mute_and_zero_levels "$TARGET_CARD" || EXITSTATUS=1 Also my input settings for my microphone in the Gnome Sound Preferences sometimes has a check box in "muted" that I have to remove after a restart sometimes -- I'm still tracking that down Here is my working alsamixer settings : Simple mixer control 'Master',0 Capabilities: pvolume pswitch pswitch-joined Playback channels: Front Left -
