hi jean, just to clarify:
there are two possible wine installations. wine #1: is included in the package manager, but apparently does not run the latest version of windows office, among others. wine #2: comes from adding "http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu- wine/ppa/ubuntu karmic" to the software sources and installing by synaptic. this version runs the latest version of ms office. it is with this version of wine that the update problem occurs. a few days ago, i completely uninstalled wine and all associated programs, then ran update manager. the update worked perfectly with wine #2 out of the picture. i've followed "apt-get clean" and "apt-get update." should i try to install wine #2 again? concerned that i'm going to have to uninstall every time i want to do an update. doogiekd -- /var/lib/binfmts/wine corrupt : out of binfmt data reading package https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498961 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
