I still see a similar message. "usb_id[394]: unable to access 'devices/pci0000:00/0000:00: id.1/usb3/3-1" running Karmic 9.10 fully updated. I also ran dist-upgrade and encounter the same results.
The problem started ~2 months ago, ~50% of the time my machine does not boot up on the first try. The computer powers on but the monitor does not become active.
