@ Snoopen Upon further investigation, your issue seems very similar to bug 418627 so it would be good to try the current workaround as described in that bug report.
Please remove linux-backports-modules-alsa-$(uname -r) if that package is installed. Now please add "options snd-hda-intel model=acer" to the end of your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf & report back.
