Steve: I have 9.10 installed on HD (using Grub) and 10.04 on a USB drive (using Grub 2). Am I now required to use Grub-PC? which I find is more difficult to use and is complicated beyond belief. It is assumed that everyone has chosen to change to grub-pc?
Why do you install grub 2 when given a choice during installation of 10.04? The upgrade log shows that you have removed the grub 2 package in favor of the grub 1 package, which is in an unconfigured state. You should avoid doing this. To restore the grub 2 package, please run 'sudo apt- get install grub-pc'.
