* issue fixed* I did a number of things including installing and de-installing "usbmount" package, doing several reboots. At the end I messed up my fstab with invalid entries. After removing all this entries and booting again the auto-mount finally works. the good news: problem solved the bad news: I don't know what it was in the end Sorry, and thanks for all your help -- Joerg
