Fabio, I don't know if would have still persisted. I dropped the ubuntu project on that laptop before upgrading from 9.04. i'd installed ubuntu via wubi, so it's not clear that had i installed a dual boot whether it would have worked. still, there are millions of those dell laptops out there and if this problem with exists with millions of wireless cards, it's not good for ubuntu. when i get some time, i might try wubiing with the latest ubuntu to see if it works.
