I checked for cifs-utils and could not find it as a valid package for my distro (Lucid 10.04). I did a quick man mount-cifs, first line of description says: "This tool is part of the samba(7) suite. So I ran a quick dpkg --get-selections: dpkg --get-selections | grep samba libsamba-hostconfig-dev install libsamba-hostconfig0 install libsamba-util-dev install samba install samba-common install samba-common-bin install So it looks like I have all the samba-related packages installed.
