ok, grub in standard resolution 640x480 then during boot the system switches to 1280x1024, sometimes showing plymouth. plymouth screen off center and small during x/gnome-session all ok including switching to and from vt's. during shutdown plymouth screen OK (!?!) no real problems anymore.
My question now is, is this a KMS thing ? a framebuffer thing ? a plymouth thing ?or a combination of it all? (grub's GFX is afaict not the problem here) If anyone has a nice idea to test I will absolutely try it and report it here :-) (oh btw, I had no problem when using an ati HD4200 (=HD3000 series) but the problems started with HD4350 (=HD4000 series) -- [lucid] unable to shut down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580867 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
