You requested a newer foomatic-ppdfile from package foomatic-db-engine in
Dapper that allows automatic generation of PPDs with CUPS.
In a stable release only security bug fixes are made and no new package
versions are allowed to enter. Exceptions to this can be made for major issues,
but I don't believe the automatic generation of PPDs is a major issue.
Therefore I'm rejecting the bug for Dapper. The rejection has nothing to do
with the slowness I experience.
A newer foomatic-db-engine package is already available in Edgy (the
next Ubuntu release) that allows automatic generation of PPDs with CUPS.
I will mark this bug fix released for Edgy.
