Sorry for being such a n3ewb in Ubuntu...
We're not there yet Adam:
eden7c@eden7c-desktop:~$ SHOTWELL_LOG=1 gdb ./shotwell 2>&1 | tee
shotwell.gdbGNU gdb (GDB) 7.2-ubuntuCopyright (C) 2010 Free Software
Foundation, Inc.License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later

"show copying"and "show warranty" for details. This GDB was configured as
"i686-linux-gnu".For bug reporting instructions, please
see:<http://www.gnu.org/software/gdb/bugs/>..../shotwell: No such file or
directory.(gdb) runStarting program: No executable file specified.Use the
"file" or "exec-file" command.(gdb) backtrace fullNo stack.(gdb)
I think I'm on an i386... (if that means 32 bit as opposed to i686 being 64
bits!?)
Now I have new facts apart from the files I still cannot provide properly..
