I don't believe this bug is a duplicate. Both seem to have been caused
by a change in the 2.6.35-25 update, as I initially reported, but the
problems are different.
In that bug the user is experiencing no sound at all, and can fix it by
getting an updated package from the audio dev ppa.
In this bug I am getting sound, however one of the outputs appears to
have been re-routed and ignores user output selection. The updated
package from the audio dev ppa does not correct this issue.
This leads me to believe that this is not the same bug.
Also, I have just tried the 2.6.35-28.49 update in proposed and this
problem still exists.
