So file a bug against opera if the opera package is not working. It's
not a bug in dpkg in any case.

You can try removing opera with "sudo dpkg -P opera". If none of this
works, you should analyze /var/lib/dpkg/info/opera.* and find out why
some of those scripts do not work (or block indefinitely).
