If unity --reset is fixing the problem, it means its a problem with compiz user configuration copied over from upgrades. In such a case, this bug is Invalid, but I'm not marking it so, because: If the Unity compiz plugin is conflicting with another Compiz plugin, why isn't it marked that way so that Compiz takes care of the clash?
