Not sure if its a hack or a fix, but allowing udev to settle before stopping it in init-bottom seems to do the trick.
I've modified /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/udev according to http://paste.ubuntu.com/679222/ and regenerated my initre.img I believe this is something more general wrt LVM and init as my symptoms are different but workaround seems to fix both cases. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818177 Title: HP DL380G5 root disk mounted read-only on boot and boot fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/818177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
