I right clicked the workspace applet, then preferences and increased the number
of workspaces. However, having now just rebooted I found the workspaces reduced
to 2 but was able to change without problem; I have now increased again to 4
and everything appears to be OK.
This has happened before and I put it down to my using the restricted driver
facility, which also causes me to lose sound, I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
card.

Subject: [Bug 113121] Re: Have 4 workspaces, unable to switch between them

Thank you for your report. We would need further information to try to
fix this problem, so please take time to answer the following questions
 :

 - How did you set the number of workspaces ?
 - How are you trying to switch between workspaces (shortcuts, switcher
applet)?
 - Have you turned the desktop effects on in Prefences -> Desktop Effects ?
