I can't think of a reason why glxspheres would be running at 1-2 FPS.

I will be adding this fix to my PPA, when the dust has settled, and
ideally after its been reviewed. Too many times I've rushed fixes into a
PPA and then needed to change them, in multiple locations :P

The good news is that the fix for this bug is sufficiently tiny that I
think we can look at proposing it as an oneiric-update (after it's been
accepted upstream).
