Thanks for all the testing and raising of bugs you've been doing! It's
greatly appreciated :)
This one isn't really a bug, it's a feature :) Really, if you're
running off a live CD, A: it's a bit difficult to run the tests against
the optical drive and B: kinda redundant anyway.
This scenario wasn't really considered (I, at least, didn't think anyone
would do this).
But since there's really little to do with this in your situation, I'm
just gonna mark this as invalid.
That being said, if you can and want to verify this, try making a
bootable USB stick (assuming your system, which appears to be a bit old
can boot via USB devices), then boot from USB and try the optical tests.
I have a feeling that that may fix this, since it would free up the
drive in that scenario.
