Hi Serge, For b), I'm using an Oneiric Server VM so there is no GUI.
Regarding a), I did not have acpid installed, so I went ahead and added it to my vm and ran the test again. It still completes the halt sequence then hang at : * Asking all remaining processes to terminate... [ OK ] * All processes ended within 1 seconds.... [ OK ] * Deconfiguring network interfaces... [ OK ] * Deactivating swap... [ OK ] * Unmounting local filesystems... [ OK ] * Will now halt [ 19.112350] System halted.
