Hi Andrea, and thanks very much for your detailed info! The core problem appears to be the DBus error that occurs first. The later AttributeError in Software Center is likely a later side-effect of that.
Note that you would never need to run Software Center using sudo. In fact, it is not recommended that you do so. All of the installs/removals/etc. can be done when simply running software-center itself. Is this problem reproduceable at this point, or was this a one-off? It appears to have been a transient condition caused by the unexpected exit of the DBus service. Please let us know if the problem is persisting for you.
