Another workaround is to get the latest stable version of LMMS via the DNS Sound ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~dns/+archive/sound Current version in Ubuntu is still 4.10 (released in February 2010 !!!); the PPA version is 4.13, released in February 2012. I tested it: - Uninstall LMMS - Add ppa in a terminal with: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dns/sound && sudo apt-get update - Install the new LMMS version in USC The Icon is now present in Dash, and can be locked to the launcher.
