Mauro, I'll try that package today on my NP700Z7C (17" Chronos) and let
you know. I noticed that the situation improved lately: normal CPU
usage for the past few days, however I did not install any packages,
just normal Ubuntu updates, and I believe it was no kernel updates:
running 3.5.0-21 now.

Can you test wakeup from Suspend? Unlike the initial boot, when the 80%
Core 1 usage is intermittent (at least for me), it always happens upon
waking up from Suspend.

On a separate note (probably different isue), but worth asking, I
noticed that I mis a lot of keystrokes on this new Notebook. Could be
mechanical or ergonomics issue, but can it be related to excessive
(ACPI) interrupts and the CPU being overworked? Did you notice it on
your NP700Z7C?
