This is to answer all request provided so far:

 1) when I run Linux 3.2.0-39 the system freeze and there is no chance
to gather debugging information from terminal using apport-collect.

2) I can use the apport-collect when I run linux 3.2.0-38-generic and I
get the system error documented above. However this error does not
occurs every time. For instance in the last two days has never happened.

Considering that error in point 2) does not occur everytime and indeed
system crash in point 1) occurs everytime, I suppose you would prefer to
focus on point 1. In this regard assuming you all agree to move forward
with point 1

- what do you need to move forward with the troubleshooting. I see Joseph
suggesting to use the latest upstream kernel. I need detailed instruction on
how to load it.
- is there anything else I can do?
- What is also needed to make sure the bug is assigned and we can move forward?

thanks
Franco
