Christopher, I suspect that the problem still exists as I am unable to boot the CD. It tries to load a file from the CD and after failing a good number of times drops to the busybox shell.
I am currently unable to run the command requested. I do not currently have a large enough USB stick to accommodate the CD image. I will try to buy one sometime this week and perform the test. I typically install from PXE, are there PXE images available for 13.10?
