logind is waiting for systemd-shim to finish the actual suspend/resume progress, but the D-Bus connection will timeout, If the whole suspend/resume cycle takes longer than 30 sec. In this case logind reverts back to normal mode (PreparingForSleep = false), but the signal to inform clients like network-manager about the state change does not get emitted.
