Good idea, I did some further investigations in the meantime and I have
no idea what makes the ethernet interface work only sometimes. I
disabled network manager, dnsmasq and avahi now, tracked for other
daemons, browsed through log files, but I still have no clue about this
fault.

As written before, the eth0 interface is sending and receiving for a few
seconds and then quiet for 20 to 50 seconds. The ACPI errors only show
up once after plugging a cable, so they are not directly related to the
issue. But after stopping so many daemons and no change of behaviour, I
suspect again a kernel related issue.

Do you have some advice how to install an old kernel? Just grab the
packages from the packages.ubuntu.org? And which packages do I need?

Thanks in advance
