I havn't posted to this for awhile now, but updating the BIOS to GigaByte's version F10 and upgrading to 7.04 fixed the USB problems on the same mobo. I am not sure which step fixed the problem though. Like I mentioned the latest BIOS update claimed "Better USB compatability"
I've since had some USB devices to 'test' out and they all seem to be working A-OK in the motherboards USB ports.
