Last time i tried install on my sdf disk in UEFI mode - at end grub failed to install on disk sda, why sda ? In BIOS mode installation was succesfull, but then nvdidia drivers bings black screen (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-390/+bug/1752053) Next i try reinstall on same disk opensuse tumbleweed, and it installed ok in uefi mode.
