This might all be related to the C++ compiler as a month ago I was
having a problem with it while trying "make" a printer driver for my
Dell Multifunction Dell-C1765nfw. @"http://foo2hbpl.rkkda.com/";

I did a bur report on that also, but have misplaced the link for now and
never have received any email on it as of yet.

Also tried to work it out in Synaptic and got this after Complete removal and 
reinstall:
