at Graeme, what do you mean with "disabled autocorrect feature" ?
what do you mean "autocorrect has been disabled on the toolbar" ?
I can only see a button for autospellcheck which is something different
please include a screenshot

auto correct is enabled in OOo Calc even though the toolbar shows it as
disabled.
