That did the work, thanks, and even almosr immediatly. It now shows the
secondary screen with a decent hue. Thanks for spending some time with a
noob like me.

If I recall correctly I opened that setting menu when already plugged to
the tv, probably for this reason it showed just the alternative settings
(wish it was possible to alsways possible to se primary and alternative
at once) . Lucky for me I followed your advice before pluggin the VGA.

Another little thing is about 
   Settings > Devices > Screen
Can't it let me choose if mirroring, extending or cloning the pc screen on the 
TV? I think I have seen that option before
