You were right about /var/lib/AccountsService/users. My login was set to a "system" account. Setting SystemAccount=false allowed me to see my login name listed on the login page.
As for ksh2020: it is found in the deb package: ksh-2020.0.0-5 It was installed normally via apt install. dpkg-query shows that the file: /usr/bin/ksh2020 is included, but not /bin/ksh2020. And /bin/ksh -> /etc/alternatives -> /usr/bin/ksh2020 I believe the "2020" is added to distinguish from the previous kornshell which is popularly known and run as ksh93. You can close this bug report since I now can select my login name and my environment is a kornshell.
