Thank you, i installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS in safegraphics mode because i 
had problems with the graphics card on Debian , Devuan, not Ubuntu, but 
tried this safegraphics nevertheless. From there, i could not get it to 
run properly.

No errors, i did install DKMS with the resulting procedure, but after 
reboot, again no luck.

ah, and yes, i did select yesterday via the "additional drivers" section 
the nvidia-driver-450, clicked "apply" and it seemed to download alot of 
packages (from the time it took to finish the process) but to no avail;
afterwards i changed from there again to metapackage for 
nvidia-driver-460 (which again resulted in a longer download/install) 
but this would no solve it.
