Hi Philip, thank you for helping me! 1) The headphones are plugged into the computer's headphone out jack; I couldn't find a headphone jack on the monitor.
2) The upgrade from the 6.5-based kernel to the 6.8 kernel was done automatically by /usr/bin/unattended-upgrade, as shown in the apt logs. 3) If I plug in the headphones later, the message shown in the attached screenshot appears and then it's fine. 4) I did it for both, file are renamed 68-... for 6.8 kernel and 65-... for 6.5 kernel. I noticed that the message in the screenshot only appears when using the 6.8 kernel; it never happens when plugging back in with the 6.5 kernel. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2024-08-20 12-21-28.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.8/+bug/2077221/+attachment/5807329/+files/Screenshot%20from%202024-08-20%2012-21-28.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077221 Title: Audio in headphone is very low and distorted at startup.
