In time: I was able to cause mysql-server postinst script to fail coming from mariadb, but still need to understand the reporter's setup to make sure it's not a different bug;
On an Ubuntu 25.04 machine: - install `mariadb-server` - install `mysql-server` - check that the postinst script fails the failing line seems to be `mysqld --user=mysql --init-file="$1" --socket="$tmpdir/mysqld.sock" --pid-file="$tmpdir/mysqld.pid" > /dev/null 2>&1` Still need more investigation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2110059 Title: package mysql-server 8.4.5-0ubuntu0.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.4/+bug/2110059/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
