I installed Ubuntu 25.04 and tried to install the package 390-tools
version v2.37.0-0ubuntu2.2. However that did not work and all I got was this:

root@b83lp65:~# apt --installed list | grep s390-tools

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in
scripts.

s390-tools-data/plucky,now 2.37.0-0ubuntu2 all [installed,automatic]
s390-tools-signed/plucky-proposed,now 2.37.0-0ubuntu2.1 all
[installed,automatic]
s390-tools/plucky-proposed,now 2.37.0-0ubuntu2.1 s390x [installed,automatic]
#

This version v2.37.0-0ubuntu2.1 does not!!! have the support for IBM
z17 counter sets.

However looking a the source tar file s390-tools_2.37.0-0ubuntu2.2.debian.tar
I can see that the tar file contains this patch file:
# ll debian/patches/lp-2103414-*
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 22690 Aug 8 08:04
debian/patches/lp-2103414-cpumf-lscpumf-Add-support-for-IBM-z17-counter-sets.patch
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 1795 Aug 8 08:04
debian/patches/lp-2103414-libutil-Add-machine-type-definition-for-z17.patch
#

These patches are correct and assuming the patches are applied before
compile, the support for IBM z17 counter sets is included.
