Hello,
Thank you for the prompt response. I have just run sudo apport-collect
2122280 to provide the general system information you requested.
In addition to that data, I have also been working with a developer on
the linux-wireless mailing list to perform a more detailed, targeted
analysis of the issue. We have successfully captured high-verbosity
debug logs from both NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant during a
controlled test that reliably reproduces the fault.
These detailed logs confirm that NetworkManager's default roaming
algorithm is the direct initiator of the disconnections.
Summary of Findings:
A disconnection event at 20:12:14 in the attached logs shows the following
sequence:
20:12:13: NetworkManager's log shows it identifies another Deco mesh
node as a "better candidate" during a routine background scan.
20:12:13: Immediately, NetworkManager sends a "Disconnect request"
to wpa_supplicant to initiate a roam.
20:12:14: The simultaneously-run ping log confirms an immediate loss
of internet connectivity at this exact moment.
This confirms the issue is a behavioral incompatibility between
NetworkManager's roaming logic and the Deco mesh system, causing a
disruptive hard disconnect instead of a seamless roam. The issue
persists even with all optional mesh features (Fast Roaming, etc.)
disabled and with the Deco in Access Point (AP) mode.
Log Files:
I have attached two gzipped files to this bug report:
final_deco_log.txt.gz (NetworkManager & wpa_supplicant DEBUG log)
ping_timeline_log_detailed.txt.gz (High-frequency ping trace)
These two logs contain the necessary information to diagnose the root
cause of this issue.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
