You say you cannot boot the -157 kernel either?  How did you determine
that?  Did you choose the -157 kernel at the grub menu?  (If you never
see the grub menu: type 'normal' (without the quotes) at the grub
prompt, type Enter, wait a bit, and if the grub menu does not appear,
type Escape a few times, slowly.)

In the grub menu, choose Advanced options (move the highlight there with
the Cursor-down key, and press Enter), then choose the
5.15.0-157-generic entry.  Does that boot to a black screen too for you?
If yes, then reboot, go to the grub menu, and choose the '-157-generic
(recovery)' entry.  (If it shows a repair menu, press Enter on the
'resume' item, and press Enter on <ok>.)  Then it should boot just fine.
If so, then use the Update Manager to uninstall the -160 kernel.
