Hello,

In my case, the person upgraded GDM and linux-firmware, then turned off
his computer. At the next boot, he had a black screen.

When I checked the kernel logs, I saw issues with "amdgpu" and suspected a link
with bug 2128883: I installed the previous version of linux-firmware and
rebooted, but the black screen was still there.
I then tried to downgrade GDM3 and its lib, but the previous version was no
longer in the repo. Because I was in command line, I didn't try to download the
previous version from LP, and instead, I removed the "Automatic Login" entries
from "/etc/gdm3/custom.conf" and rebooted. This fixed the issue.

The laptop owner never used the terminal, I don't see why
MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_EGL_STREAM would be set to 1.

If you think it is needed, I can ask to get access to the laptop again
to reproduce the issue and get more logs. Hopefully the issue is a
combination of "auto login" + specific HW or custom config, so it
doesn't affect too many people. (Also, if I was not there, I'm sure this
person would not have been able to report the issue here → what I mean
is that maybe it affects more people that we think.)
