Public bug reported: [Impact] The ufs controller reports not ready to accept UIC command during fwts S3 test, and disk lost connection, can’t do I/O anymore.
[Fix] Intel provides a series of patches to fix this issue https://lore.kernel.org/linux-scsi/[email protected]/ [Test] Runs the following command on the device with ufs disk, and the disk should keep working well after the test sudo fwts s3 --s3-multiple=30 [Where problems could occur] It mainly preserves the hba->spm_lvl(desired UFS power management level) before suspend and restore the value after resume for the ufs. It doesn't look like to introduce any regressions. ** Affects: hwe-next Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Assignee: AceLan Kao (acelankao) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: jira-somerville-3169 jira-wtn-302 oem-priority somerville wtn ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Plucky) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-6.17 (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-oem-6.14 (Ubuntu Noble) Assignee: (unassigned) => AceLan Kao (acelankao) ** Tags added: jira-wtn-302 oem-priority wtn ** Tags added: jira-somerville-3169 somerville -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2129986 Title: The ufs controller reports not ready to accept UIC command during S3 test To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/2129986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
