This bug is still quite confused because even if
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/4628 provides a
workaround, the only bug it links to is
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/4302 which doesn't sound
directly relevant.
Overall it seems like a Blender bug, and although a workaround might
exist in Mutter 49.1, it was never formally reported upstream or tracked
in an upstream bug.
