Thank you Amit, It feels you confirmed exactly what I suggested/assumed with my mention of a "pc-q35-noble-amdnoarchcap" type or similar. All else is exactly as I expected it but I thank you a lot for confirming.
For Ubuntu the point releases are not that meaningful as for others, as our fixes come out along the way and not gated by the point release - for us that is more a collection of what you already got through regular updates. But that does not break the approach - it just isn't .4 -> .5. For the question if the default if you say nothing is the old or the new type, we will need to discuss that with the SRU team, but I'm confident we can make a good argument to take the new fixed one. Could be "pc-q35-noble-v2" to be independent of point releases and the actual fix, that is more open to future changes of the same kind. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2131822 Title: Known Windows 11 KVM Issue AMD KMODE Exception To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/2131822/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
