It looks like there might be an update available for your BIOS from HP,
it's possible this could be related to the issue. A good first step
would be to try the latest version and confirm the problem still occurs
so we can rule that out.

Next, you could try a mainline kernel build to see if the problem is present 
upstream as well, our latest mainline kernel build for amd64 is v6.18.1, 
available here: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/mainline/v6.18.1/

If the LED is working on mainline, we'll start narrowing down which
Ubuntu version caused the issue or what patches need to be backported
from upstream.
