Hi Ian, thanks for following up. This is a new regression that appeared after upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS with the HWE kernel.
Kernel regression details: 6.14.0-37-generic → hard power-off on battery (regression) 6.8.0-41-generic → works correctly on battery 6.8.0-52-generic → works correctly on battery (currently in use) The system powers off instantly while on battery (no reboot, no kernel panic). After the shutdown, the machine cannot be powered on again unless AC power is reconnected. BIOS and firmware are fully up to date (MSI, no newer versions available). Because the shutdown is a sudden power loss, logs are limited, but I can attempt to collect journalctl -b -1 output if that would still be useful. Please let me know if you would like additional testing or logs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2136113 Title: Suspend crash on battery To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.14/+bug/2136113/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
