My bad, wasn't thinking. Because suspend and screen blank both put me
in a non resume mode I disabled both automatic screen blank and
automatic suspend. So I do all on/off's using the virtual button in the
upper right hand corner - like an old fashion work station. I didn't
force a suspend before getting your last logs. This time I used
systemctl suspend to force the suspend. Screen was black and would not
resume, though the PC was operational - that is lights on and fans
running. I restarted using the main power switch and the back of the
case and got your logs. Hope this one works. I do realize that its
possible my problem is a hardware failure that's coincident with the
software upgrade, though believe its unlikely at this point.

Mike
