First example that comes in my mind: to use the derivatives (dFdx, dFdx)
in a fragment shader, the Nouveau driver required to use the command
"#extension GL_OES_standard_derivatives : enable", the NVIDIA didn't. As
result, a shader written to work on Nouveau works on NVIDIA, while a
shader written on NVIDIA doesn't works on Nouveau. End of the
digression, all of that was to say that I have some reasons to prefer to
have the Nouveau driver, I am not interested in workarounds using the
proprietary driver.
