hi @Michael Thanks for your interest! The fix currently requires building kernel modules from source, which needs some Linux experience (installing kernel headers, running make, loading modules). It's not a simple one- click install yet.
The patches have been submitted to the Linux kernel mailing lists for upstream inclusion. Once accepted, the fix will eventually arrive through normal kernel/distribution updates — no manual steps needed. In the meantime, if you're comfortable with terminal commands, I can write up step-by-step build instructions. Let me know your Linux distribution and kernel version (uname -r), and I'll help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2131138 Title: Internal speakers don't work in HP Elitebook 8 G1i 14 AI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/2131138/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
