## Description
On Ubuntu 24.04, when "Auto-hide the Dock" is enabled, maximized windows
may be unexpectedly restored (unmaximized) when switching to another
application.
## Steps to reproduce
1. Enable "Auto-hide the Dock" in Settings → Ubuntu Desktop
2. Open an application (e.g., Visual Studio Code)
3. Maximize the window
4. Switch to another application (e.g., Settings)
5. Return to the original application
## Expected behavior
The window should remain maximized after switching between applications.
## Actual behavior
The window is restored to a smaller (non-maximized) size after switching
applications.
In some cases (e.g., VS Code), the maximize button still shows the
"restore" state, indicating that the window state and UI are out of
sync.
## Workaround
Disabling "Auto-hide the Dock" prevents this issue.

- Desktop: GNOME Shell 46.0
- Session type: Wayland
- Affected applications: Observed in Visual Studio Code (may affect other
applications)
