I agree. Wayland isn’t designed for the desktop, but for embedded devices and things like tablets. Use cases that are infinitely simpler than those of the desktop. It’s no coincidence, for example, that there’s no unique identifier for a window. Then again, of course, with enough extensions one might be able to make it work on a desktop too, but given the approval times for these extensions and the debate surrounding them, my well-founded suspicion is that, fundamentally, the desktop use case is not a priority. What we need is a platform that takes the best of Wayland, but is designed from the outset for the desktop and, above all, has a reasonable timeframe for the extension approval process. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/335761 Title: Placement policy 'Remember' by default for all windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-default-settings/+bug/335761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
