Thanks for the report! We should make sure the logrotate leaves the log
file owner untouched - in Ubuntu 26.04 sssd no longer runs as root.
But on Ubuntu 24.04 sssd runs as root and should thus be able to write,
did you change the file owner manually, or is this the unmodified sssd
installation?
